AB de Villiers finished a glorious century and had great help from the tail on Sunday as South Africa took a first innings lead of 139 in the second Test against Australia.
De Villiers made 126 not out before South Africa were hard and fast for 382 in no time before the planned meal break on the third day at St George's Park in Port Elizabeth.
Vernon Philander (36) and Keshav Maharaj (30) helped De Villiers include 84 for the eighth wicket and 58 for the ninth wicket as South Africa ruled a radiant morning.
Australia's quick bowlers, who had an overwhelming workload on the earlier day, withered under a strike in which De Villiers played some amazing strokes.
He hit 20 fours and a six of every a 146-ball innings. It was his 22nd Test century and his 6th against Australia.
Philander played a strong innings, while Maharaj hammered two sixes and three fours off 24 balls.
He seemed to have been gotten when he hit his initial six off Nathan Lyon however Usman Khawaja ventured over the midwicket limit before hurling the ball back infield to finish the catch.
