West Bengal Board of Secondary Examination (WBBSE) Madhyamik Pariksha (Secondary Examination), 2018 will be held from March 12 to March 22. As per Statesman every day, in excess of 11 lakh hopefuls will show up for their class 10 examinations this year, with an expansion of 40 thousand candidates this year than a year ago. The aggregate number of class 10 examinees in 2018 is 11,02,921, of whom 6,21,366 are young ladies. The quantity of young men who have enlisted for the examination is 4,81,555. 

The quantity of examinees expanded by 31,075 this year, where the quality of young lady understudies is 1,39,811 more than young men. A year ago, the quantity of young lady hopefuls was 1,19,502 more than young men. 

The examination will be held at 2,819 focuses over every one of the regions in the state. 

A novel element this year is that the examination is additionally being led in the Santhali medium. 

"The inquiries have been set in the Ol Chiki content. The aggregate number of hopefuls in the Santhali medium is 832, who might show up at 37 school settings," said an authority said.

To begin with Languages papers are Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Modern Tibetan, Nepali, Odia, Gurmukhi (Punjabi), Telugu, Tamil, Urdu and Santali. 

Second dialects are English - if any dialect other than English is offered as First Language - and Bengali or Nepali, if English is the First Language. 

Agreeing a WBBSE warning, examinations in shorthand and typewriting will be held at Kolkata and Siliguri as it were. Examinations in Sewing and Needle work will be of four hours length. 

Examination in Music Vocal and Music Instrumental will be of two hours length for Theoretical Portion. 

Examination on Computer Application will be of two and half hours length on hypothetical Examination. 

Examination on RStr, SStr, AStr, and HStr will be of 1 and half hours length on hypothetical Examination. Oral, Portfolio, Project and Direct Observation on these 5 (five) subjects will be taken by the Sector Skill Council and individual schools.
