Iran jails woman for removing headscarf in public


An Iranian lady who freely evacuated her cover to challenge a compulsory hijab law has been condemned to two years in jail, prosecutors say, reports BBC. 

The lady, who has not been formally named, was discovered blameworthy of "empowering moral debasement", Tehran prosecutor Abbas Jafari-Dolatabadi said. 

He included that 21 months of the lady's sentence had been suspended and that she needed restorative treatment.
