KOLKATA: The bad habit chancellor of Jadvapur University (JU), Professor Suranjan Das, today said the chief establishment is the "main state college in Eastern India to have been conceded full self-governance" by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The UGC yesterday endorsed full self-rule to 60 higher instructive foundations, including JNU, BHU, AMU, JU and University of Hyderabad, for keeping up elevated requirements of brilliance.
"In the whole East, JU tops among classification 1 state colleges - those that have been allowed full self-governance - and this is a proof of the foundation's scholastic perfection," Prof. Das told PTI here.
This acknowledgment by UGC is uplifting news for JU, which has confidence in bringing all segments of society and partners while taking a stab at scholastic brilliance, he said.
"The college can't do well without the dynamic help of understudies, workforce, analysts, individuals from non-showing staff, executive," he clarified.
To an inquiry regarding the flexibility that accompanies the independence, Prof. Das stated, "While some other college needs to present another course as per the UGC list, we can begin another course all alone and give degree."
JU can go into understandings with remote colleges without taking standard assent from UGC and welcome the outside workforce and outside understudies for a specific period without the compulsory UGC gesture, he said.
The college can likewise set up seaward grounds in nations like Singapore, Dubai, Bangladesh all alone, he said.
"The UGC has given us utilitarian self-sufficiency and scholastic acknowledgment," he stated, including that JU will guarantee that Indian understudies were not financially loaded while enlisting for courses.
