A shooter who shot and harmed two adolescent understudies at a secondary school in the US province of Maryland was shot dead after a gunfight with a security watch.
Austin Wyatt Rollins, 17, shot a 16-year-old young lady, who is in a basic condition, and a 14-year-old kid.
The assault occurred on Tuesday morning before lessons at Great Mills High School in St Mary's County, 65 miles (104km) south-east of Washington DC.
Rollins had an earlier association with the young lady, Sheriff Tim Cameron said.
The school giving comes a month after a secondary school shooter killed 17 in Parkland, Florida.
Blaine Gaskill, an equipped grounds watch, traded gunfire with the assailant yet it is hazy if the shooter was hit by the monitor's gunfire or shot himself.
Mr Cameron said the shooting started in a corridor at the school.
The shooter let go at a female and after that a male understudy, hitting them both, he said.
"Our school asset officer who was positioned inside the school was cautioned," he told correspondents.
"He sought after the shooter, connected with the shooter. Amid that engagement he terminated a round at the shooter.
"At the same time, the shooter terminated a round also," he said.

The female understudy is in a basic condition in healing center.
About 1,600 understudies go to the school in the group of Great Mills close to the Chesapeake Bay and were cleared to a close-by school after the occasion.
