Bangladesh to observe one-minute blackout on March 25

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal yesterday said Bangladesh would watch a one-minute power outage the evening of March 25 in memory of the history's most exceedingly bad ruthlessness did by the Pakistani Army on the "Dark Night" of March 25, 1971. 

"The legislature has taken a choice to watch a one-minute power outage program on March 25 from 9:00pm to 9:01 pm," he told newsmen after a coordination meeting held at the Home Ministry's Conference room here yesterday. 

The pastor said the coordination meeting was held to talk about different issues with respect to how to watch the genocide day "Gonohattya Dibosh" on March 25 and the Independence Day on March 26 gently. 

Amid the power outage program, he stated, the power supply would be suspended from 9:00 pm to 9:01 pm the nation over. "We will watch this power outage program just to review the frightfulness of March 25 night, released by the Pakistani boorish armed force on the eve of the War of Liberation," Khan included. 

The home minster said the legislature has attempted all measures to guarantee tight security at Savar National Memorial and furthermore in the capital city and its neighboring territories on the day. "Individuals from the law requirement offices have been requested to guarantee security on walk 25 and March 26," he said.
