Hundreds of shanties gutted in Mirpur slum fire

A few hundred shanties were gutted in an overwhelming flame that softened out at a ghetto up Mirpur in the capital early Monday, UNB reports. 

The fire began at a shanty around 4am and soon inundated contiguous shanties, said Mahfuz, obligation officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defense control room.
