One student dead, another hurt in Alabama school shooting

(CNN) - One understudy was killed and another was in basic condition after an unplanned shooting amid expulsion time at a secondary school in Birmingham, Alabama, police said.

No less than two shots were discharged, slaughtering a 17-year-old female understudy and harming a 17-year-old male understudy at Huffman High School, said Birmingham police Chief Orlando Wilson. He said police thought about the shooting unintentional, yet did not detailed.

Huffman was put on a concise lockdown and police were called to the scene when the shooting happened. The school has metal identifiers, and school asset officers were nearby at the season of the shooting, said Birmingham City Schools Superintendent Dr. Lisa Herring. She said Huffman will be open Thursday, and guides and police will be on grounds.

The young lady who was executed was going to turn 18, had been acknowledged into school and had yearnings to be a medical caretaker, Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin said.

"Our hearts are overwhelming," he said.
